Installation Guide

    Your Guide For Installation into a Timber Structure

    Note: Check for timber structural adequacy to hold daybed / swing chair for around 500kgs. If in doubt consult with licenced builder or carpenter.

    Swing Positioning

    Mark out desired position of chair hanging points on beam or intended position.

    (Note: Allow for approximately 40mm greater width, than the actual width of daybed / swing chair. Ie daybed / swing chair is 1500mm, then allow of 1540mm width between hanging points)

    Install Eye Nuts Into Roof

    Install 12mm Eye Nut (items not supplied)

    • Drill 12mm hole through centre of beam.
    • Install 12mm threaded rod through hole drilled.
    • Place 12mm washer (square or round) on top of beam with threaded rod centered.
    • Place 2 x M12 nuts with thread lock compound on top of washer.
    • Place M12 eye nut on bottom of timber beam with thread lock compound.

    Clip On The Carabiner

    Place carabiner onto eye nuts installed in step 2 (carabiner provided)

    Align The Rope

    Let ropes hang down and feed through eye bolts affixed to chair (eye bolts provided)

    Support Swing

    Temporarily support day bed / swing chair at approx. 500mm from floor level to underside of day bed / swing chair.

    Get The Right Angle

    Slightly tilt chair backwards (ie allow front edge of day bed / swing chair to sit higher than the back Getting the right edge of the day bed / swing chair. Tighten up rope grips once chair is in final position.

    Finished!!

    Remove temporary support structure. Sit back and enjoy!

    * Ropes will stretch after first sitting on day bed / swing chair. Once the ropes have stretched they will be fine. Ropes have a snapping strength of 1300kgs.

    ** Tighten all nuts annually.

    *** If in doubt consult with licenced builder or carpenter.

    Your Guide For Installation into a Concrete Structure

    Note: Check for structural adequacy to hold day bed / swing chair circa 500kgs. If in doubt consult with licenced builder or carpenter.

    Choose Your Location

    Mark out desired position of chair hanging points on ceiling. The roof needs to be a minimum of 120mm thickness. 

    (Note: Allow for approximately 40mm greater width, than the actual width of day bed / swing chair. Ie day bed / swing chair is 1500mm, then allow of 1540mm width between hanging points)

    Swing Positioning

    Install Hanging Bracket (items not supplied)

    • Drill 12mm hole a minimum of 80mm into concrete slab above.
    • Remove all dust from holes.
    • Install Chemset 101 into drilled holes (https://ramset.com.au/Product/Detail/4/ChemSet-101-Plus)
    • Place 12mm threaded rod into hole & add chemset liquid mixture as far as it can go.
    • Leave to cure for 24 hours.

    Install Eyebolt into the Roof

    Place M12 eye nuts onto end of thread.

    Clip On The Carabiner

    Place carabiner onto eye nuts installed in step 2 (carabiner hooks provided)

    Adjust the Rope

    Let ropes hang down and feed through eye bolts affixed to chair (eye bolts provided)

    Support Swing

    Temporarily support day bed / swing chair at approx. 500mm from floor level to underside of day bed / swing chair.

    Get The Right Tilt

    Slightly tilt chair backwards (ie allow front edge of day bed / swing chair to sit higher than the back edge of the day bed / swing chair. Tighten up rope grips once chair is in final position.

    Wrap the rope around the clamp, time to get creative! 

    Finished!!

    Remove temporary support structure. Sit back and enjoy!
